Los Robles
Trail
Sunday
01-15-06
7 men--Rod, DavidR, DaveW, Roger,
Matthew, Jamshyd, and I--met at the appointed time at the south end of Moorpark
Road on a cold Sunday morning. Skies had cleared after yesterday's rain,
leaving a beautiful blue canopy under which to ride. As we pulled away
from the street, Reuben and a couple of neighbors drove up but they said to go
on ahead, they'd try to catch us. So on up the switchbacks we
headed.
The pedal up was relatively uneventful
apart from the beauty surrounding us. On over to the bench near the top of
Rosewood we continued. While chatting and eating, Reuben and neighbors
showed up for a bit before they continued on alone. Then we elected to
head on down the Rosewood Trail which proved nice and tacky from the previous
day's moisture for a great ride down. We followed the usual route back
toward Moorpark Road, looking forward to the fun of the Whoops at the
end.

Here are some photos--some
have been made a bit "painterly" depending on my mood--of each of the gang at
the top of the last big whoop!

believe it can be this much fun!

At the bottom of the Whoops we
quickly arrived back at the cars. Roger had to head for home, but the
remaining 6 of us decided to do one more short loop. We headed over to
climb the beautiful Las Padres Trail, then climbed fireroad up to the top of the
several-year-old double track.

The double
track eventually took us back to the Whoops for one last E-ticket
ride. The 6 of us then went out to the Side Street Cafe for delicious
treats, both edible and viewable.
Have a great
week.
