WILDWOOD WITH A TWIST
Rob is in Mexico doing a special ride with
Dean so I guess your stuck with my little report and cell phone pictures and
a map of the ride. Seven manly men showed up at Wildwood on a cloudy
day with the potential for rain in the air. Reuben, Joe, David, Brian,
Matthew, Jamshyd and Myself. We started the ride in the usual direction
heading East (see the map) and then climbed to ride the ridge of the
mountain with Santa Rosa Road to our left.
Joe, Brian, David and Reuben at the top just before the switchbacks

David, Reuben, and Joe going down the switchbacks, never to be seen again.

Jamshyd and Matthew decided to explore a single track that went to no where
but had beautiful views of Wildwood Park. This is where the RCY split
started. The first group did the usual loop, the second group decided to do
some exploring, we first wanted to cross the water and go up toward Amgen,
but we could not find the bridge that Jamshyd saw once. So we continued to
go north until we almost got to Santa Rosa Road.
We eventually found our way back to the trail, finding new single tracks and
fire roads on the way (see the map, it is worth a thousand words)
Jamshyd pumping his tire (I think) notice the position and the control he
has of the pump, amazing ::). Also check out my bike to the left with my new
bike GPS, you can read all of the ride stats and a Google map of the ride on
the link below.

To Virtually fly through the ride, you need to have Google Earth loaded on your computer.
Click on Google earth at the bottom of the small map. After a few minutes when the satellite map shows up then click on the play button (it is a triangle pointing to the right, just like the play button on your cd player or mp3 player) and if your lucky and every things loads properly you will enjoy the ride, you may get dizzy from all the twists and turns.
