July 15, 2007 Mountains and Fields around Zichron Yaakov, Israel
We started the ride at Beni's Micro Winery (pictures at the end) at 6:00 a.m. !!! It gets very hot over here. These are the agricultural fields where there are many vineyards that supply the grapes for one of the larger Wineries in Israel (Carmel Winery in Zichron Yaakov). Beni (below) is my 3rd/4th cousin.

Beni coming down a double track with a rocky surface

Going down into the forest

Entering the Mount Horshan Reserve. Being a military firing zone we kept our heads low :)

Beni, in front of one of the many single tracks in the area

Resting and enjoying some dried fruits and nuts (not from Costco) that Beni brought along.

These are not sheep, but better then nothing :) :)

This is a small tree that is growing out of a rock and a view of the bike Beni borrowed from one of his friends.

This is Beni's Micro Winery, it is kept at about 12 degrees Centigrade by the air conditioning unit you see.

Below are some Cabernet Sauvignon, can you read the Hebrew dean? The wine is really good.

We did about 16 miles of riding and 1800 feet of elevation gain. Check out the map and try the fly through with google earth.
It was a great ride.
