Trippet Ranch
Saturday
10-29-06

A sizeable number of RCYers remembered to turn their clocks back an hour for the end of daylight savings time, showing up in Topanga Canyon for the 8 a.m. start time of Sunday's MTB ride.  Nine of us more or less did a basic out and back ride, heading from Trippet Ranch down to the firegate at Paseo Miramar Road where we turned around and headed back from whence we came.  Of course, we made a slight detour out to Parker Mesa Overlook a couple of times for some eats and views.

Joined by a couple of female hikers, the group lines up on the Parker Mesa Overlook:
Rod, Matthew, Mitch, Nelson, John, Jamshyd, Female1, Aaron, Joe, and Female2
Although Aaron apparently headed back towards Trippet in order to climb up to The Hub, the rest of us as previously mentioned headed on down to the end of the dirt to the firegate at Paseo Miramar Road.  Most of the ride was on fireroad, but a few of us also explored some of the singletrack that parallels the fireroad.  Turning around and climbing back up the steep fireroad, Mitch continued on back to the cars while the rest of us made a second stop at Parker Mesa Overlook.

It was time for Matthew to distribute The Apples....and Bananas

As we were pedaling back up the steep fireroad, some of us observed that there were quite a few pregnant women hiking along the road.  Little did we think that that condition was so easily contagious....

Wouldn't Jamshyd make a fine mother?

But lest you think it too outrageous for J to become pregnant, perhaps you have not seen him at his most fetching.....

Well, it being Halloween as I write this, I thought I would continue with a few additional frightening images.  Many of you have already seen these photos, but I thought it appropriate to post them again.  Trick or Treat....

Back at the cars, only Matthew, Jamshyd and I went out to eat at the usually excellent Pat's Topanga Grill.  But it must have been an early Trick or Treat and we got the Trick.  Poor service: we must have waited close to an hour before we got our food....at least the food tasted good!

Anyway, have a safe Halloween night and a good week and
