Day #365
Rain was threatening this morning,
but most forecasts had the rain holding off until at least the
afternoon. So I headed out from my dry home in Van
Nuys for the 8:00 RCY ride start at the East Coast Bagel parking lot in Westlake
Village. On the way a light drizzle hit my windshield, but nothing too
bad. Arriving at East Coast Bagel, there was no
drizzle but the only people to show up were Robro and me Robco.
Just as we prepared our gear and bikes and locked up our cars, the sky started
to drizzle lightly, then a little harder and then even harder. Rob and Rob
looked at each other, one up and one down, and realized that in spite of having
over 125 years of wisdom between us, we blew it this time. So we
packed up our gear and bikes and headed on over to Greystoke Grill in Tarzana
where there was a joint RCY(mtb)-BBKings(roadie) Year End Breakfast that
had been arranged by Larry and Bruce in the event of rain.
Fun was had by all. It was a
wild time in Tarzana. Lord Greystoke (aka Tarzan) would have been
proud.
